In December 2022, the City of Shreveport implemented a Rental Registration Property Program. Pursuant to Ordinance 195 of 2022, no individual, corporation, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, may rent, or offer to rent, to individuals or households any rental dwelling unit until the residential rental property has been registered and a Certificate of Registration has been issued by the Office of the MPC. Residential rental properties include any single-family, two-family, triplex, fourplex, manufactured homes, townhome, condominium, and/or apartments being offered to rent.

To register a residential rental property, please follow the instructions below:

• Type the street number and wait a few seconds for the drop down menu to populate the entire address. Then select the property address from the drop down menu. This will open up the rest of the form for entry.
• Complete all sections, and then hit the ‘Submit’ button.
• Upon completion of the Residential Rental Property Registration form, the Office of the MPC shall issue to the property owner a Certificate of Registration as proof of registration. Please retain this form for your records.

Please note:

• Anytime the contact information for the local authorized designee changes, the property owner is required to contact the MPC and have their registration updated.
• A Certificate of Registration is not transferable to any person or entity who has acquired ownership of a residential rental property.
• There is no charge or fee to Landlords who register their residential rental property with the MPC.
